Peter is a graduate of Durham University in Applied Physics & Electronics & has extensive experience in the electronic components industry in Sales, Marketing, Engineering & Manufacturing Management .He has operated successfully in European & Global markets

Key Corporate experience includes:-

* Management of the European Distribution network of AVX Europe, a leading Global manufacturer of electronic & interconnect components
- worked with a combination of Global, European & local Distributors to achieve sustained growth.
* National Sales Manager (UK & Ireland) - activities included direct sales & sales through Distribution, servicing major blue chip contract & own manufacturers - some on a European basis. This was during a period of major activity prior to the significant migration of the manufacturing business eastwards.
- The sales force was restructured, market share increased & interconnect products added to a broadening passive portfolio.

* European Marketing Manager of a Division of AVX undergoing major investment, and new product introduction.
-The role was to achieve rapid growth & gains in market share - structured plans were introduced across the European Sales. These were successfully implemented.

*Project Management of major investments to address the transition of components to surface mount technology
- The role required visits to & negotiations with Japanese equipment manufacturers and also frequent visits to North America & Asia to promote (successfully) the new product technologies.

* Rationalisation & promotion of product lines following acquisitions of two businesses by STC Ltd.
- Product lines from three manufacturing facilities in the UK & Germany were rationalised into a product portfolio which provided a basis for expansion into the Global market. Actively engaged in promoting these lines in North America & Asia. The success of this exercise helped establish a business which proved attractive enough for subsequent acquisition by AVX.

* Manufacturing Management ofa facility of Union Carbide Corporation employing close to 300 persons at its peak.
-This followed a 3 year stint working in Engineering & Manufacturing in South Carolina at the Parent Company. Success in terms of output & yield was followed by acquisition by STC Ltd.
